From the 19th July nothing will change at the surgery. Going forward patients will need to still wear a mask, socially distance and use hand sanitiser in the surgery and staff will continue to wear PPE. We do understand that it can be frustrating but we know that when people come to us they are sick and vulnerable so we feel it would be wrong to not take these small precautions to protect them and our staff.
In terms of opening up, as many of you know, we have never been shut and in fact have consulted with much higher numbers of patients than we did pre-COVID (face to face, by phone and via AskmyGP), and in addition our staff have also been vaccinating many of our Primary Care Network patient’s in the last 6 months.
Our community has come so far in trying to minimise the impact of COVID. However with an increase of COVID infections locally we do feel this is appropriate and hope you understand that we need to keep the surgery as safe as possible for everyone.
AskMyGp service changes from 4th May 2021.
AskMyGp is available between 8am – 12 noon Monday to Friday for all patient requests
After 12 please only contact us by phone if you have an urgent problem that cannot wait until the next working day
We do ask that you utilise other services where appropriate and these include your local pharmacy, NHS choices, steps to change for counselling and talking therapies or 111 for urgent problems.
To keep the telephone line waiting times down, we urge as many patients as possible to talk to us online using AskMyGP this also means the phone lines are kept free for patients who do not have internet access or who are more vulnerable.
For test results please use AskMyGp between 8am – 12 noon or call our medical secretaries between 2pm – 4pm by selecting option 5 on the phone.
For medication enquiries please use AskyMyGp between 8am – 12 noon or call between 1pm – 5pm and press option 1.
For recalls and long term condition reviews please use AskmyGp during service hours or call the recalls department Monday – Thursday 9am-1pm and press option 4.
All other enquires please call the reception team 8am – 6.30pm and press option 3.
Please be aware we are closed for training on the first Wednesday each month.
